African Walking Trail
AFRICAN WILD DOG VIEWPOINT
Stop by our two-level viewpoint – NEW for July 2024! Look out for our pack of intriguing African wild dogs as they play together and explore their new home. African wild dogs are also known as ‘painted dogs’ due to their fantastically variable coat colouration!
The dogs you will see here are brothers, Brock, Bruno and Billy.
GRASSLANDS VIEWPOINT
Make your way up the path to see a range of incredible animals on foot for the first time in the Safari Park’s history! At the Grasslands Viewpoint, you can see our African elephant roaming their habitats.
SAVANNAH VIEWPOINT
Gaze at our elegant herd of giraffe from this spectacular viewpoint, as they explore their home. Can you spot all ten in the tower?
As you look to the left of our Savannah Viewpoint, you can watch our ‘crash’ of Southern white rhino as they spend their day grazing in their new environment. Keep an eye out for our youngest calf as she playfully bounds around!
The path leading to the African Walking Trail has a steep incline with a compressed gravel surface. We do not recommend this route for wheelchair or mobility scooter users. Guests with pushchairs may also find this section difficult to navigate. Instead, you can use the tarmacked road past Marmoset Mischief to access the African Walking Trail. To do this, keep right, take the second exit road and proceed up a smaller incline. This is a shared route so please keep to the side and beware of vehicles.
