Red-Bellied Lemurs

Red-bellied lemurs are small, fluffy primates native to the eastern rainforests of Madagascar. They are known for their soft chestnut-brown fur and subtle facial markings, with males and females showing slight differences in colouring that help distinguish them.

These social animals typically live in small family groups made up of a mating pair and their offspring. They spend much of their time in the trees, moving carefully through the forest canopy as they search for food and interact with one another.

Red-bellied lemurs are gentle groomers, often using their lower teeth like a natural comb to care for one another’s fur, strengthening social bonds within the group. Their diet mainly consists of fruit and plant material, making them an important part of rainforest ecosystems.
